Born in Sambhal in 1905 and named in the madrasa's profile among its alumni. He graduated from Darul Uloom Deoband in 1927, founded the monthly journal Al-Furqan in 1934, taught Hadith at Darul Uloom Nadwatul Ulama in Lucknow, and wrote Ma'ariful Hadith and Islam Kya Hai?. He died in Lucknow in 1997.

His published biography records study at Madrasa Siraj-ul-Uloom in Hilali Sarai alongside other Sambhal madrasas before he graduated from Darul Uloom Deoband in 1958. He taught and served as a jurist at Darul Uloom Nadwatul Ulama, was a founding member of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board, and received the President's Certificate of Honour in 2008.

A continuing legacy
Beyond the names that reached national audiences, generations of graduates serve as imams, teachers and community workers in Sambhal and far beyond it.
Families in Sambhal have sent children to Hilali Sarai for more than a century, and many of them return as teachers. That continuity, more than any single name, is what the madrasa counts as its record.
